About

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is an action-packed first-person shooter that draws inspiration from the classic cartoons of the 1930s. Its black and white rubber hose visuals are drawn by hand, frame by frame, delivering a striking vintage aesthetic. Unravel layers of corruption with a thrilling noir-fueled detective story, lively environments to explore, an original big band jazz soundtrack, and a fully-loaded arsenal of cartoon weapons and devastating power-ups.

Digitec Magazine 5/5

"The idea of turning a boomer shooter into a cartoon-style game is bold enough. To then set it in black and white in a world of mice is downright crazy. But it works brilliantly. A highly political story, combined with offbeat humor and slapstick, makes Mouse P.I. a fantastic single-player shooter."

Netto’s Game Room 5/5

"By the time I saw Mouse: P.I. For Hire's credits, I was breathless. Breathless from the pulse-pounding, breakneck pace of the bloody, exhilarating combat. Breathless from the unpredictable revelations from the awesome story. And breathless from the ridiculously cool presentation of Mouse's world, through its wonderful art direction and fantastic, moody soundtrack. Mouse: P.I. For Hire is a masterclass in game design, and I'm here for whatever this team does next; which I genuinely hope is another Mouse game."

Gaming Furever 5/5

"From its beautiful hand-drawn animation and world, to its lovable cast of characters, to just the overall polish and love put into this game, the long wait we all had to endure to play this title was well worth it."

The Punished Backlog 9.8/10

"Just when I thought the first-person shooter genre had gone stale on me, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire walked in, tipped its hat, and changed my mind. This game won me over with its endless charm, its witty and genuinely cheesy dialogue — the cheese puns never stop, and I didn’t want them to — and a level of aesthetic commitment that extends to every corner of Mouseburg. A few structural quirks in the case sequencing keep it from a perfect score, but MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is a triumph — as close to perfect as it gets. Fumi Games has built a world that deserves to be explored, a story that earns its weight, and a combat system that keeps you coming back for one more run. At $29.99, this game is worth every cent."

JsemGamer 97/100

"MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is a stunning noir FPS that turns 1930s rubber hose animation into a brutal, stylish, and surprisingly atmospheric shooter. Its Doom-inspired gunplay, fantastic jazz soundtrack, Troy Baker’s strong voice performance, and BioShock-like sense of decay make Mouseburg unforgettable, even if the lower difficulty and mostly automated detective work keep it from being flawless."
